Kara Fihe

Kara  is from St. Charles, MO, and played competitive soccer until she was 11. She developed a love for volleyball when she was 9 and played club volleyball from  U11-U18. This will be Kara's fourth year coaching with Team Momentum,  and she is excited to help others achieve their best on and off the court.

During her volleyball career, she played various positions, but libero/DS was her passion. Playing for Team Momentum for five years, U14-U18, she had the best club experiences and coaches. While attending Francis Howell Central, she played JV/Varsity her freshmen year as an all-around outside hitter/ds and played Varsity the next three years as libero/DS. She had the honor to attend the USAV HP Training Program three times in Colorado Springs, Co. Her first invite was in 2012 to the National A1 program as an outside hitter. She was invited again in 2013 and 2016 to the National A2 program as a libero. In 2016, her team won the National USAV HP Tournament, and it was a highlight of her volleyball career.

Deciding not to play collegiate volleyball, she attended the University of Missouri – Saint Louis on an academic scholarship. She currently works at Mercy Hospital St. Louis as a Pediatric/PICU nurse. She has always had a passion for helping others and is happy to help coach with Team Momentum to share her love for and knowledge of volleyball.

Ahna Kasper

Born and Raised in Imperial, MO, Ahna played softball for 8 years as a pitcher and first baseman. One of the hardest decisions she  ever made was driving by those softball fields on that first day of high  school tryouts. She went to the volleyball gym instead and said it was  the best decision she ever made. “Volleyball is the best sport. And the  passion I have for the game shows in the way I coach,” Ahna says.

She played on the varsity at Seckman High School for three years (JV  freshman year). After high school she went on to play at Central  Methodist University. Ahna has played middle, right side and outside.   Ahna has coached for 9 years, including the freshman boys and girls  teams at Seckman and this will be her 8th year with Team Momentum.  Currently Ahna is a Volleyball Coach at Seckman.

Currently working as a TA in Earl Early Childhood, Ahna one day  plans to teach physically impaired children just like the amazing  children she works with now.

Coaching Philosophy:  “Your team is your family. They are the one’s  who will be picking you up during the game and when you are feeling down  on yourself. You must play with as much intensity, energy, and love for  the game as you feel for the game or you won’t have a successful  outcome. I love this sport and I hope to pass on a little bit of my  passion for it on to my players.”
