Sydney, from St. Louis, MO, went to Parkway West High School. She played four years as an outside hitter/right side hitter for the Longhorns. She also played on the basketball team at Parkway West. While at Parkway West, Sydney was named the All-Conference team three times. She also was a two-time All-District pick and an All-Region player as a senior. She was named a team captain in her final season. During her sophomore year, she helped her team reach the state tournament. Sydney played club volleyball for Team Saint Louis and Rockwood Thunder VBC. After high school, Reale went on to play volleyball at Lindenwood University as a pin hitter.
Sydney has been coaching club volleyball for the past 12 years. She previously coached for Parkway Lightening in 2010. In 2013 Altey coached CYC volleyball for St. Clare of Assisi. This year will be her 11th year coaching for Team Momentum. Sydney has had much success coaching here at Momentum with multiple trips to the National tournament. Sydney is currently a Master Coach for the high school age groups with Team Momentum as well as the lead for our college recruitment process.
Sydney has worked various camps and clinics around the St. Louis area, including PlyoCity, All American Volleyball, Washington University, Lindenwood and Parkway West Little Longhorn volleyball camps. She has worked with hundreds of young volleyball players around the area training and developing them.
Sydney’s passion for the game is contagious. She is very competitive and strives for success. One of her biggest strengths as a coach is her ability to strategize, see the court and find a way to win.
Atley is a graduate of Lindenwood University with a degree in Business marketing and an emphasis in Event Planning.

Nick, from St. Louis, MO, went to Christian Brothers College High School. He was an all-around athlete playing multiple sports from football, basketball, to volleyball. At CBC he played two years at the Varsity level as a middle for coach Jeff Cheak, who has been coaching high school men’s volleyball since 1993 with 11 state titles underneath his belt. Nick also played club at Southeast Missouri State University.
This is Nick’s seventh season with Momentum as an assistant coach.
– In 2016 he helped his 15 Navy team earn a USA bid to Nationals at the Northeast Qualifier finishing 2nd. At the 2016 USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships (Indianapolis), the team finished 11th overall.
– In 2017 he helped his 16 Navy team earn a USA bid to Nationals at the Mideast Qualifier finished 2nd. At the 2017 USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships (Minneapolis), the team finished 25th overall.
– In 2018 his team also qualified for the USAV National tournament at the Northeast Qualifier finishing 2nd.
– In 2019 his team double qualified for the AAU National tournament in Orlando finishing 1st in the Nashville Super Regional and the Rockford Grand Prix.
While playing multiple sports at CBC High School, Nick came from a various amount of successful sports team nearly reaching the MSHSAA Volleyball state finals his senior year, to reaching the MSHSAA Football finals in 2007. Nick received All-Conference team in 2007 when the football team reached the state finals, on-top of receiving the “Hardest Working Award” for both football and volleyball.
In 2013 Nick created the “Ultimate Spikes Volleyball League” at Lifetime Fitness, where Team Momentum and Lifetime Fitness partnered in the development of young female volleyball athletes. The program’s purpose is to help young female’s understand the importance of proper nutrition, along with the appropriate strength training, and the importance of volleyball specific skills. This program works hand-in-hand with the high-school age groups who are experiencing these critical needs and changes as they look to elevate their game to the next level. Nick has been brought on to help in getting the girls bigger, faster, and stronger for the next level of play this season. We are very excited for the girls to get the opportunity to work with Nick who will push the girls to reach their highest potential of being an athlete.
Nick’s passion for competitive sports will be well displayed and bring a great vibe and energy for the girls to feed off of to compete every match, every practice, and every ball.

Lauren is born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She has played volleyball since 12 years old. She played here for Team Momentum for a number of years. Handy started out her career as a Middle Blocker and developed into an outside hitter by her Senior year in High School. Lauren attended MICDS where she earned many accolades both on the court and in the classroom.
Lauren is currently going to school at UMSL. This is Laurens first year coaching volleyball and we are super excited to have her back in our organization!

Family: I am the oldest daughter in my family. I have one younger sister who is in her final year of OT school at Rockhurst University in KC. My mother is a retired teacher of 30+ years and is enjoying retirement. My dad is a farmer, owner of Stuenkel Bros. Concrete and is a Command Sergent Major in the United States National Guard. I grew up on a farm in the middle of no where with a lots of animals and crops.
Coaching Experience: This will be my 4th year coaching in the St. Louis area, but 5th year coaching competitive volleyball. I coached a younger competitive team at my high school when I was a senior. Once I graduated college, I realized coaching was my next calling in life. After being in St. Louis for over a year, it was time to find a great program to apart of, that's what lead me to Momentum Volleyball St. Louis.
Volleyball Experience: I've been playing volleyball since I was in 3rd grade. I continued to play throughout middle school and into high school. I started playing competitive volleyball when I was in the 6th grade. I started varsity on my high school team my sophomore year. We went on to win conference, district, and some regional titles for the next two years. I continued my volleyball career at Central Methodist University, where I played til my sophomore year. I have been a setter since 3rd grade. In high school I was a setter along with outside, middle, and right side. Once I reached college, I was a setter and defensive specialist.
Work Experience: Currently I am a event coordinator in the St. Louis area.

Danielle has played volleyball for over 15 years. She attended Fort Zumwalt West and was a left handed outside hitter for the jaguars until she graduated in 2009. Danielle went to Le Moyne College, a Division 2 program in Syracuse, NY. She played volleyball as a right side hitter all four years. Danielle graduated from Le Moyne College with her bachelor’s degree in Criminology. Danielle attended Syracuse University and received her Masters in Social Work.
After graduation, Danielle stayed in New York and worked as a Licensed Master Social Worker for a few years. During that time, she coached middle school and high school volleyball at Marcellus High School. In 2017, Danielle accepted a position with the Department of Justice and moved back home.
This is Danielle's second season with Team Momentum.
