Paula Baechle was born in St. Louis then her family moved to Jonesboro, Ark in second grade, where she lived until she graduated from Jonesboro High School. Not knowing what she wanted to do when she grew up, she decided to enlist in the U.S. Army and spent the next four years serving her country while being stationed in Ansbach, Germany and Ft. Ord, California. While stationed in California, Paula played softball for the Signal Corp and competed in the military softball league. Upon exiting the military, she eventually moved back to the St. Louis area and obtained her degree in Architectural Design/Drafting at Ranken Technical College.
Paula is married to Dale and they have 4 children. Paula coached two of their daughters in CYC volleyball from the time they were old enough to touch the court, and assisted Dale in coaching softball and basketball. After a need for a career change, she went back to college to obtain her teaching degree, and was hired to teach Science / Special Education at Seckman High School, where she also was hired as the Freshman Girls and Boys Volleyball Coach that same year. Paula has been coaching at the high school level for 5 years now, with the last two years being a Varsity Coach along with daughter Ahna.
I have a deep appreciation for team work. My days in the military instilled in me the values and need for hard work, dedication, and most of all…teamwork. I have always believed that when a group works together, great things can be accomplished. A team is more than just a group of people who come together for a common purpose, it’s a family, and that family comes together to conquer all that is set before them. I also believe that in any sport, and especially volleyball, it is the most basic /solid fundamentals that will win games.
This is Paula’s second year with Momentum and she is looking forward to working with this organization.
